Bull-ring is a derogatory slang term for a small race track. Why would the Racing Marketing Manager for Edmonton Northlands call Northlands track a bull-ring?
Whatīs next? Calling the stands a ghetto?
St Liams Halo
Owner: Glen Todd and Patrick Kinsella
Trainer: Alan May
Probable next race: Count Lathum Handicap
A maiden allowance winner in his most recent start - Chicago, June 25 - St Liams Halo was purchased for $100,000 and sent north. He has made five consecutive starts on turf. How will he handle a dirt bull-ring?

Sunday morning going up Phil checks thehorses.com. No article about Salt Flat Speed winning the Don Fleming Handicap on Saturday, July 24, 2010, but there was a Derby Girl story posted by Lynn Redl. Why does Lynn Redl-Huntington drop the Huntington when she posts on thehorses.com?
Does Lynn Redl get paid for posting on thehoses.com?
How many of the hits for voting on the Derby Girls are turning into dollars in the Northlands handle?
If you remember back to 2008, Phil wrote a couple of comments about the then VP of racing wagering his salary against his guarantee of a $300K a day thoroughbred handle. Thatīs one of the reasons that Northlands Park used the Petty Trespass Act on Phil.
The 2010 handle will be hard pressed to average $200k; a drop of over 33% in 2 years.
Total combined handle for Sunday, July 25, 2010 - Together Northlands Park and Alberta Downs didnīt crack the $200k mark.
Hits on the lewd and lascivious Derby Girls site arenīt converting into dollars in the handle.
"Yet itīs easy enough for a website featuring crude interviews with half-dressed girls to get page views. Can Northlands really translate such online voyeurism into improved racetrack attendance, especially for the Canadian Derby, Edmonton racingīs most upscale event?"
Edmonton Journal - Derby Girls Cross The Line
Paula Simons mentions only half the problem. Thehorses.com is a joint venture between Edmonton Northlands and Horse Racing Alberta, the body that regulates horse racing in the province. Would the Ontario Racing Commission feature Derby Girls on their site?
Curtis Stock understands Don Flemingīs significance in horse racing history in Alberta?
Maybe Salt Lake Speed ran one for his sire.
